Who We Are
Bethany's Table is a neighborhood freestyle bistro driven by the creative and social impulses of its owners, Chef Janet O'Connor and her Sidekick, David Bowles. The staff is comprised of individuals who work together as friends and individuals who share a set of values that fuel the work we do.
Where We've Been
Having purchased a shop that was once a Dinner's Ready franchise, the business was reincarnated in June of 2008 with a core commitment to sell meals that customers would take home and finish cooking. We attempted to distinguish ourselves from Dinners Ready with better quality, chef-driven food and a superior service strategy. Yet, despite our best efforts, we were constantly told, "I really don't understand what it is that you do." Perhaps the confusion persisted simply because we are truly restaurateurs – "That's Who We Are – That's What We Do." Despite any other labels we provide or business models we may have latched onto: We are restaurateurs.
The prepared meal business, while popular, has not become a way of life for many families. And the restaurant business has taken off. So now we have a different explanation about ourselves.
Bethany's Table is a restaurant and caterer. Just like most restaurants, we make our menu available for "take out". With regard to prepared meals, we still offer a full selection of fresh and frozen meals that you can take home and finish cooking. We specialize in healthy Northwest "freestyle" cuisine. We use local and naturally produced meat and produce and try to maintain a good assortment of vegetarian and gluten-free options. We have a great assortment of wine that we sell at typical retail prices for you to take home or have with your meal at the restaurant. We sell wine and offer an assortment of appetizers, small plates and great desserts.
Events & Wine Tastings:
Bethany’s is a place to meet. Wine tastings are held every Friday evening. Group events are our specialty and we offer private Group Wine Tasting Dinners based on a variety of themes we have developed for our public tasting events.
