Who are we?
We have been heard to say that Bethany’s Table is an oasis in a culinary desert named Washington County, though this has offended some local boosters and we’ve been advised not to say that anymore. We found there is strong demand for good cuisine and genuine hospitality and it is our honor to offer these things in our neighborhood. We provide a respite, a gathering place, a thriving piece of the local community. And the food is darn good food!
The creator and lifeblood of the Table is our chef-owner, Janet O’Connor. She has never been one of those people who puzzled over what she was going to do with her life or whether or not she was on the right path. Growing up in the country, she always knew what real food was- this girl was raised on wild strawberries, homemade bread, and farm-fresh goat’s milk. She’s worked in the restaurant industry most of her life, and at Bethany’s Table she puts her unique stamp on all aspects of the business.
Our meals are largely comprised of ingredients produced locally and sustainably and prepared with loving care. The menu changes regularly to keep up with the bounty of every season, and we offer many options for vegetarian and gluten-free patrons. We are committed to supporting local purveyors, and are particularly dedicated to the use of high-quality meat and seafood that are sustainably and ethically produced. We offer more than your usual dining experience. Our location is off the beaten track, and we make a true effort to connect with our community. There is never a shortage of conversation or smiles, and we make every effort to encompass all of our customer’s needs.
