The Marketplace Goes Digital… and Beyond.

After making the tough call to close our brick-and-morter Marketplace in July, we took the next few weeks to breathe, recalibrate and ideate on the future. We promised updates and we are ready to deliver!

Going Digital -

Starting Tuesday, September 12th, you’ll be able to find a small selection of The Marketplace house-made and intentionally-sourced staple items available to order online for pickup! The featured items will largely be frozen, with a few exceptions, and will include soups, a few dinner and dessert options. Our intention is to re-assess these online offerings every two-weeks and rotate special items as we need - or want - too. If you loved The Marketplace, we hope you’ll check out our new digital store front, and that you’ll find it valuable.

View the online menu HERE - or you can find it on our website, via the “menus” tab. Items will appear on all three menus: Marketplace, Lunch and Dinner. Available during any of our open hours, we simply ask for an hours notice or more to prepare your order.

What does Janet have planned next for The Marketplace space?

I have two main ideas: classes and private, experiential, group dinners.

Classes: We added Anjali to our team just as we were gearing up to re-open after the remodel earlier this year. She was an instructor at the Oregon Culinary Institute and is a professionally trained baker and pastry chef. She is incredibly excited about the idea of teaching classes again and has agreed to assist me in creating, running and instructing the program. The plan is to offer a regular cadence of ticketed small-group cooking classes that you can purchase tickets for anywhere from 1-12 people, and to offer more custom private small group cooking classes that would be perfect for parties or team outings, also of up to 12 people.

Experiential Group Dinners: We are in the process of transforming the space into a dining area that has a cozy “working kitchen” feel. We are using the Brazilian purple heart wood slabs we have from the previous table existing on the back patio to create two beautiful 7-foot tables that can accommodate anywhere from 6-12 guests. If you are looking for a unique, fun and engaging dining experience, this is for you! We would create a special 5-7 course Chef’s Tasting Menu with optional wine pairing, prepared and served by the overseeing chef (which would be myself, afore mentioned Anjali, or my Lead Chef, Cassady). These would be partly cooking demonstration, where you would learn about technique and the art of cooking, and partly fine dining.

That’s all for now. Of course, we are in the ideation phase and need to do some work to get these up and running, but we hope to have some event dates for you coming soon. If you have a holiday party, birthday, family get-together, or are looking for the perfect gift for the upcoming holiday, we hope you’ll keep these two upcoming experiences in mind. More information coming soon!
